  29. mf files are input files for METAFONT which creates files for TeX, DVIPS,
  30. etc. In my installation mf files reside in
  31. /usr/local/lib/mf/macros
  32.  
  33. Man page for mf (METAFONT) tells that environmental variable MFINPUTS
  34. could be used to point to your local mf sources. Its default is:
  35. .:/usr/local/lib/mf/macros:/usr/local/src/TeX-MF/typefaces//
  36.  
  37. Double slash at the end derives from Berry's implementation. It says
  38. that all subdirectories are searched as well.
